John's nickname was "Diz." If anyone knows why, please let me know! He was the son of Newton Franklin Kreamer and his wife, Jennie Verna Breon. Alfred had 5 brothers and sisters: Helen, Olive, Nora Marian and Charles.

His father was a farmer, and then later worked for the Pennsylvania Highway Department as a steam roller operator.

In the 1930 Census, John is listed living with his grandmother, Chestie Keen Kreamer, who was at the time an 83 year old widow. He was working as a traveling salesman, selling corn products. His sister, Olive, was also living with her grandmother. John was 22 years old and single.

On June 17, 1942, John enlisted in the United States Army, serving during WWII. His enlistment record states that he was single at the time. His education was 3 years of high school. His occupation on the record was "machinist." He was 64 inches tall, which is 5' 4" tall. He weighed 158 pounds. He enlisted in Altoona, Pennsylvania. His Veteran's burial record states that John was a Private First Class, serving in HQ Battery 765th FA.

It is not known if John every married or had any children. He passed away on December 31, 1990. He was buried on January 2, 1991.
