Mrs. Bertha Colvin was a wonderful "fixture" around Catlett for as far back as I could remember. She worked for years at the old (original) Trenis Store near the RR tracks or crossing and after that at the Trenis IGA Supermarket and Hardware on Route 28. Her husband, Leslie Colvin, died before her.

Bertha Colvin was also a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Catlett. Her kindness and generosity, cheerfulness and good will were known to all the community residents. I remember her as a young child when we used to go into the store, and she treated me wonderfully.

She died at the Blue Ridge Christian Home in Bealeton and was buried in Catlett at the Methodist Cemetery. Patricia Olson, pastor, led the services on March 13th.
