Mr. Shirley B. Akers, 82 of Barren Springs, died late Thursday morning in the Pulaski Community Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Margaret A. Akers; two daughters, Mrs. Elsie Kemp and Mrs. Shirley Chrisley, both of Barren Springs; one son, Garland O. Akers of Denver, CO; one sister, Mrs. Lina Rakes of Fieldale; one brother, Dick Akers of Barren Spring; six grandchildren; one step grandchild; and one great-grandchild. The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Glenwood Methodist Church with burial in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Morehead Funeral Home, Austinville, is handling the arrangements.
