Lela Maxine 'Mickey' Hennin

Lela Maxine 'Mickey' Hennin, Age 72, of Lowell, passed away Friday, July 21, 2000. She is survived by: her son, Robert D. (Barbara) Hennin of Wheatfield; her daughter, Debra L. (Michael) Smith of Midlothian, Virginia; seven grandchildren, Lisa Birky, Jeff Hennin, Tricia Mashburn, Michael Smith, Rhonda Myers, Adam Smith and Jacob Smith; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Kathryn Perigo of Highland; one aunt, Alberta Snyder of Danville, Illinois, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Hennin, on August 10, 1998; her parents, Roy and Daisy May; two sisters, Alice Molden and Iva Walker, and a great-granddaughter, Alexis Myers. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2000, at Sheets Funeral Home in Lowell, followed by burial at West Creek Cemetery in Lowell. Visitation was held from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. July 24 at the funeral home. Mickey Hennin was a member of the St. Anthony Medical Center Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary Unit #101 in Lowell, and the First United Methodist Church in Lowell. Prior to retirement from the Tri-Creek School Corporation, she was in business with her husband at Hennin Excavating in Lowell. She was also a past Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, the Indiana Heart Association Board of Directors, Welcome Wagon International, a past West Creek Precinct Committeewoman and past secretary of the South Lake County Democratic Committee.
