She married Hyram L. Ames on June 17, 1948 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
She graduated from West High School and LDS Business College. She was a member of the Utah Oratorio Society, and sang Handels's Messiah at the Tabernacle for 55 consecutive years. She was always there to support her children and grandchildren in music, dance, sports, and other family activities. She especially enjoyed spending time a the family cabin in the Uintas and attending Salt Lake baseball games. She was also a gifted and prolific landscape painter.
Jeanne was an active member of the LDS Church and served many callings over her lifetime. Despite half of her lifetime spent enduring severe rheumatoid arthritis, she always found the strength to attend the opera, plays, ballet, and the symphony. This strength and courage will always be an inspiration.
Jeanne is survived by her husband; Hyram; four sons, Steven (JoAnn) Ames, Salt Lake City; Michael (Tiffani) Ames, Sandy; Thomas (Lori) Ames, Taylorsville; Christian (Valerie) Ames, Paris France; one daughter, Nannette (Daniel) Sageser, Park City, UT; eight grandchildren; one brother, Jack Wignall; two sisters, Marjorie Buchi and Susan Storch. Preceded in death by her parents and one son Michael Dennis Ames.
Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens.
