Arlo Cat, and his sister, Alice Ann, was orphaned when he was 3 weeks old. Arlo was named after Arlo Guthrie, Shortly after being rescued, he moved with his new mom and sister, Alice Ann, to Durham, NC. Arlo was a totally spoiled young man. For the most part he stayed inside, but every once in a while he was allowed to go outside. Once, while outside, he caught a snake. He was so proud he brought it inside to show Mom. Arlo liked to watch a tv show on PBS, "Backyard Birds" and would run to the living room when he heard the opening music. His favorite games was to chase crumpled up paper balls that his mom would throw across the room. He would retrieve the paper ball and bring it back to her to throw again. He also liked playing in the occassional snowfall, and would bat around snowballs. Arlo was very much top cat in the family, he kept all the other cats in line. He wasn't happy when a dog, Puzzle, moved in and would slap her if she got to close. But they worked it out, though they were never best buds. Arlo loved to snuggle with his mom and chew on her hair. No one else was able to sleep up on the pillows, those were Arlos. Arlo loved chicken and somehow knew when mom got a pack out of the fridge. Arlo lived in Wilmington, Durham, Sanford, Graham, Gibsonville, NC, and finally moved with mom to Roan Mountain, TN. He enjoyed going out and lying in the sun, but he never went far from the house. Arlo was 12 yo when he was diagnosed with diabetes, in June 2007. By December of 2007, the disease had taken it's toll on Arlo, he had developed diabetic neuropathy and was barely able to walk, his kidneys began to shut down. He was still mentally alert and bright, but by March his body was wore out and he was tired.
