Mr. George "Morton" Griffin, 94, husband of Ernestine Tuck Griffin, died Friday, May 15, 2009 at his home. He was born August 10, 1914 to the late Clement Morton and Magnolia Sneed Griffin. A life-long resident of Aarons Creek, he was a member of Aarons Creek Baptist Church. He was retired from farming and from J.P. Stevens Textile Company. Graveside services will be 2PM Sunday at Aarons Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Bill McEntire officiating. In addition to his wife of 72 years, Mr. Griffin is survived by his son, George Randal Griffin, of the home; daughters, Barbara G. Poe (David) of Asheboro, NC and Helen G. McLaughlin of Richmond; grandchildren, Angie Mason (Roger) and Bob Griffin (Kim) of Lynchburg; Jean M. Grubbs (Thomas) of Richmond, Ashley P. Proctor of Asheboro, NC and Brian Poe (Natalie) of Seagrove, NC. Great grandchildren, Brittany, Chad, Josh, and Savannah Mason and Felicia Veleo of Lynchburg; Will and Dylan Grubbs of Richmond; Cassie Proctor of Asheboro, NC and Reese Poe of Seagrove, NC; and nieces, Vye Jennings and Woodrith Blazek (Steve) and nephews, Norman and Allan Richardson also survive.
