Velsa Hall was born near Nardin, OK.to Ed and Velma (Beatty) Hall. He had a sister, Velda Ramona Hall (Dodson). In 1922 the family moved to a farm near South Haven, KS. Velsa married Bertha Rose Brown from Arkansas City, KS in 1933. The had a son, Kyron Velsa and daughter, Enola Rosetta (Bogue). Velsa and his Dad, Ed, farmed together in the community all their lives. Velsa and Bertha were divorced around 1960 and he married Verda Rollett from Hutchinson. In his later years Velsa raised prize winning purebred Yorkshire hogs and in the year before his death had the "Grand Champion" boar pig at the Chicago Livestock Show.
