Services for Hubert A. Henley, 76, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Sanders Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Michael Passmore, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.

He died on Monday, April 10, 2000, in Heritage Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on Jan. 3, 1924, in Hermleigh. He graduated from Hermleigh High School. He was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He married Martha Lou Holmes on July 2, 1949, in Snyder. She died on April 13, 1991. He was a charter member of Oakwood Baptist Church.

He retired from Rainbow Bakery in 1985.

Survivors include a son, Jim of Lubbock; a daughter, Lynette Carpenter of Lubbock; a brother, Jesse of Abilene; two sisters, Venita Joy Courtney of Midland and Delma Dallefeld of Big Spring; and seven grandchildren.
