Deceased was married to Henry Goodge in 1846 and 7 years later, in 1853, they with their two children came to America and settled in Evansville, Indiana. Later they moved to Minnesota and from there to Sioux Rapids, Iowa, where they made their home until the death of Mr. Goodge in 1899.

She early experienced the change of heart and witness of the Spirit which gave her entrance into the kingdom of God. Her faith was strong, never faltering, she knowing in whom she believed and was fully pursuaded that He was able to keep that which she had committed to Him. In faith she died but being dead yet speaketh of the power of God through Jesus Christ, to save and keep. Upon their removal to America Mr. and Mrs. Goodge united to the Methodist Episcopal church and the deceased retained a membership in the Sioux Rapids church up to the time of her death.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the home of W.C. Coulson conducted by Rev. Sands of the local M.E. Church and the remains laid to rest in the Armstrong Cemetery.
