He was a twin to Dr. Harley Hooker, and they were sons of Increase Moseley and Lois (Wilcox) Hooker. He married Sally, the daughter of Rufus and Polly Dunham and were the parents of three sons and two daughters. He came to Rockton in 1841, bought out the claim of Luman Pettibone on the Goodwin farm, building a cobblestone house and barn, and making other improvements. Upon his death, his widow married 15 May 1870 to Apollos P. Goodwin and died 26 April 1889.
