RITES HELD HERE
Funeral services for Jack E. James, 54, Douglasville, who died Tuesday, Oct. 3, were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 6, at the First United Methodist Church of Douglasville with the Rev. C. Lavern Mobley and Max M. Whittemore officiating. Internment was in Douglasville Cemetery with Douglasville Masonic Lodge 289 in charge of the graveside rites.
Mr. James was a 34-year veteran employee of the Life of Georgia Insurance Co. He joined the company in 1938 as an agent in Greenville, S.C. In 1955, he transferred to the MArietta district. He moved to Atlanta in 1964 and to Carrollton in 1970.
A three-time Honor Club qualifier, he was a winner this year of the National Sales Achievement Award. He was a graduate of the Carroll-Haralson Life Underwriters Assn.
He was the son of J. Will James, a long-time tax commissioner of Douglas County.
Survivors include his wife, the former Evelyn Cochran of Douglasville; two sons, Robert and John C. James; one daughter, Diane James; three sisters, Mary, Frances, and Mildred James.
J. Cowen Whitley Co. had charge of the arrangements.
