Richard 'Dick' Lee Adams , 87, Hamilton, passed away on Nov. 24, 2006, at the Missouri Veteran's Home, Cameron, Mo.
He had owned Adams Abstract and Tile Co. in Kingston, Mo., for over 58 years.
Born on May 6, 1919, in Kingston to Orin J. and Otie (Frazier) Adams , he had been a 1937 Kingston High School graduate and had attended college for a year. He had served in the Army Signal Corps for 31/2 years. He had lived in Caldwell County, Mo., for most of his life.
Dick was a 60-plus member of the Hamilton Federated Church, Hamilton American Legion Post No. 285 and Hamilton Masonic Lodge. He had belonged to the Moila Shriners of St. Joseph for 25 years. Dick was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Elizabeth Welch; and brother, Robert F. Adams .
On April 17, 1942, he married Elsie Briner in Platte City, Mo. They had been married for 64 years. She survives of the home.
Other survivors: sons, Bill (Nancy) Adams , Hamilton; and Jim (Sylvie) Adams , Lenexa, Kan.; and two grandchildren, Nathan Adams , Liberty, Mo.; and Niki Lonjers, St. Joseph.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at the Hamilton Federated Church. There is no formal scheduled visitation. Interment: Highland Cemetery, Hamilton. Arrangements: Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton.
