Henry Schlabach was born in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania on December 25, 1848 to Jonathan and Sarah Ann (Hines) Schlabach.
At the age of 74 years, he applied for admission to the Washington Veterans' Home in Retsil. He was 5 foot 11 inches tall, had a dark complexion, and was a resident of King County. He had been an Engineer.
He married Villa M. on December 31, 1885 in Buffalo, Erie County, New York.
MILITARY RECORD:
Enlisted January 24, 1872 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania; served as a Private in Troop "L", 8th Regt., U S. Cavalry, and was discharged due to disability on March 13, 1873 at Fort Union, New Mexico. While stationed at Fort Union in 1873, this soldier was in the zone of active Indian hostilities.
Mr. Schlabach died January 24, 1928 and was buried in the Home Cemetery on January 27th.
