Dies on Farm Where He was Born in 1857: Thomas Darby Dalgleish, died at his farm home, 3 miles south of Lake Orion, at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, December 26th, following an illness of two weeks of dropsy.

Mr. Dalgleish was born September 29, 1857 at the home where he died and where he had spent his entire life. He was the son of George Dalgleish, a native of Scotland, and Sarah Armstrong Dalgleish. He was a most respected and hard working farmer and one of the old settlers of his community, he and Willard Brown, of this village, being about the last of his generation living in that neighborhood. He was married to Louie E. Ellis, of Canada, May 29, 1883, who passed away a number of years ago.

Surviving are three sons and a daughter, Frank and Jennie Dalgleish, who lived at home with him; Clarence, of Oxford, and Flloyd, of Metamora; also a sister, Mrs. Nancy Hibbler, of North Branch, ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held from the farm home Saturday afternoon, with Rev. F. R. Walker officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Edward Burns and Mrs. E. J. Stoddard and burial was made in Evergreen cemetery, Lake Orion, in charge of F. H. Allen.
