Services for Elsie C. Burkholder, 85, formerly
of 206 Princeton Lane, will be held
at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Gundrum Funeral
Home.
She died at 5:40 p.m. Saturday, April 27,
2002, in Bradner Village Health Care Center,
Marion.
Born Jan. 16,1917, in Gary, she was the
daughter of Ruffus A. and Jannie A.
Greever Carter. On May 8, 1937, in Burnettsville,
she was married to Ivor C. Burrough,
who died Feb. 23,1967. On Nov. 26,
1975, in Logansport, she was married to
John R Burkholder, who also preceded in
death.
In 1975, she retired from R.B.M. after
eight years of service.
She was a member of Calvary Presbyterian
Church. She also was a past president
of Third Mothers Study Club, a member
of Fidelity Chapter #58, Order of Eastern
Star, a charter member of the Community
Choir, and a charter member of the
Mary Dykeman Guild.
Surviving are three stepdaughters, Carol
Justice, Logansport, Marianne Jones,
Galveston, and Jerri Stafford, Galveston;
one stepson, John Burkholder, San Diego;
one daughter-in-law, Diana Burrough,
Marion; one grandson; one great-grandson;
eight stepgrandchildren; and several
stepgreat-grandchildren.
One son, Ivor Dale Burrough, two sisters,
and four brothers, preceded in death.
The Rev. Doug Mankell will officiate at
the services. Burial will be in Mount Hope
Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday
in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to
Calvary Presbyterian Church.
