Mrs. Judith Eater died Saturday evening at 5 o'clock, September 24th, 1910, at the home of her son John Eater, six miles southwest of Mt. Vernon, after a very short illness.
Her maiden name was McLaughlin. She was born in the state of Maine, March 23d, 1835, and with her parents she immigrated to Illinois, where she was united in marriage with Jonas Eater, who died July 18th, 1910. To this union eight children were born; John, Daniel, Abby, Martha, Jonas, Ella, Charles, and Alva. All survive her except Abby, who preceded her to the glory world several years ago. She united with the Free Will Baptist church some forty years ago and has battled with life's burdens in true christian faith.
