Leland H. Peterson, loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed away on
Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009, of a heart attack at Mercy Medical Center, Nampa, Idaho.

Lee and his twin brother Larry were born to Doris and Claude Peterson in Glenns Ferry on
Aug. 28, 1934. Lee was raised and educated in New Plymouth. He and his twin brother Larry
both served their country when they joined the U.S. Air Force together on Jan. 19, 1952.
Lee was honorably discharged in Jan. 1, 1956. After his discharge from the military, he
worked for Union Pacific Railroad in Salt Lake City, Utah, for 10 years. Subsequently he
worked for Potlatch Forest, Inc., until his retirement, when Lee returned to the Treasure
Valley and started several business ventures.

Lee was a very kind, generous, loving and dignified individual who loved to fish. He will
be forever missed by his family and friends.
Lee is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth, brothers Carl (Bonnie) and Laurel, sisters
Roberta (Carl) Williams, Mary (Woody) Hopkins, Glenda (Rodger ) Alexander, children
Rodney (Bernadine) Peterson, Tammy (Len) Todd, Lori (Ken) Lozinski, Janice (Gill) Coutu,
and Butch Reichard, stepchildren Gladys, Geneva, Gary, Les, and Lamar Potter,
grandchildren Jeffrey Wayne Peterson, Jesse Lee Peterson, Cody James Peterson, Terrah
Michelle Lanman, Melinda Joe Peterson, Miranda Jane Peterson, Jeffery Wayne Lozinski,
Christy Ann Lozinski, Brian Wayne Todd, Jason Coutu, Jamie Coutu, Michelle Coutu, Tashua
Leyba, Jonathon Kuper, Christopher Kuper, Kyle Garrison, Richard Korgan, Angie Korgan,
and Dixie Stewart. Last but not least, Lee is survived by 30 great-grandchildren and
numerous nephews and nieces.

Lee was preceded in death by his mother and father, previous wife Hattie, brothers Larry,
Robert, Arthur, Galen, Curtis, Kenneth and Boyd, his sister Beverly, and children Douglas
Wayne Peterson, Lana Kay Potter, and Mary Elizabeth Reichard, and nephew Duane Peterson.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, at Aclesa Chapel, 8209 Fairview
Ave. (across from Winco foods), Boise. Viewing will be from 8:30 a.m. until the time of
the service. Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at the Idaho Veterans Cemetery.
