From page one the Rulo Register of January 19, 1911 - Rulo, Richardson County, Nebraska:

Mallory Mr. John Mallory was born in Pennsylvania Febr. 18, 1835; died Jan. 12, 1911 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mary B. McCellan. Mr. Mallory was married to Rachel Sherlock, Aug. 4, 1855, in Michigan. To this union were four children born, two of which yet survive. Mrs. Lida Shaw of Salt Lake and Mrs. Mary B. McCellan of Rulo. He also leaves ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren to mourn his loss. He was an old soldier, enlisting as a private in 1864 in Co. F, 29th Regiment, Michigan Volunteers, Infantry. He moved from Creston, Neb. to Rulo fifteen years ago and has since resided here. He was also a member of the Holiness Church of Christ and died in the faith of his Lord and Master Jesus Christ. The funeral was held at the McClellan residence Saturday, friends and G.A.R. comrades assembling in tribute of respect to the soul passed away.
