Marceline Salina Soulliere was born in 1897, the daughter of William D Soulliere and Margaret (Acre) Soulliere. She grew up on Harsen's Island in the St Clair Flats.

Marceline attended the Harsen's Island school from 1905 through 1914, when she married Clarence E Lee.

Clarence and Marceline made their home in Detroit, and had twelve children. Marceline loved children, and when their youngest child started school, she found herself lonely during the day. She said to Clarence, "Honey, let's have another baby".

Clarence replied, "Woman, are you nuts? We have twelve kids now!"

Clarence passed away suddenly in 1957.

In 1962, Marceline married Frank Kemter. Sadly, it was not a happy marriage, and she filed for divorce shortly before her death. The divorce was not yet final when she passed away.

In accordance with her wishes, Marceline is buried beside her first husband Clarence, and their shared headstone bears his last name.
