Surviving is a son, Simon and a grand-daughter Miss Emma Behler, whose mother died 29 years ago; five step-children, Mrs. Lizzie Redmond, Edward and Henry Engemann of Wathena, Mrs. Rose Beebe of Kansas City, and Fred Engemann of Atchison, a brother , Fred Behler, of Cosby, Mo., several nieces and nephews and grandchildren.
Grandma Engemann has lived continuously in the home where she died, not having been off the place for years. She has been ailing for sometime. She has been a member of Smith Creek Zion Reformed church since coming to America.(Src: The Wathena Times, July 26, 1940.)
