Charles W. Curtis, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, graduated from Oxford High School in 1940. He went to Ford Training School in Dearborn and married Marma J. Hardwick on December 31, 1942. He was a member of the Army Air Force from 1943-1946, and retired from Travelers Insurance. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Metamora and the Lapeer Royal Arch, also a member of the Imlay City Eastern Star along with the American Legion of Oxford. He started the first little league baseball team in Oxford in 1953 and was honored in May 2003 at the 50 years celebration of the Oxford Youth Baseball League with a monument at Scriptor Park. He was also very involved with the Boy Scouts for many years. Charles was also a member of the Immanuel Congregational church in Oxford.

Preceded in death by his parents Thomas & Bernice Curtis, brothers; Ralph, Keith, and Thomas. Survived by his loving wife of 66 years Marma J. Hardwick. Sister; Elsie Davis and brother Art Curtis. Children; Bill (Sharon) Curtis of Florida, Marilynn (Gary) Smith of Lapeer, Sharon (David) Peacy of Oxford, Thomas (Lori) Curtis of Lapeer and Kimberly (Gary) Withun of Oxford; 12 Grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
