William Charles Eichorst, Sr. was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was married to the late Catherine Murphy Eichorst, and they had four sons. He is the father of Tommy Eichorst, David Eichorst, Jimmy Eichorst, and the late William C Eichorst Jr.

His grandchildren are William "Bill" Eichorst, Kevin Eichorst, Adam Eichorst, Amy Eichorst, Kelly Eichorst Hulsey, Bryan Eichorst and Katelyn Eichorst. He has two great grand-children.

He enjoyed telling stories to his grandkids and especially teasing Kelly about her Cabbage Patch Doll, who he so gingerly referred to as "Double Ugly".

He served in the United States Navy. He was a World War II veteran who was held as a prisoner of war (POW).

During his lifetime, he worked in the steel mills around the south side of Chicago.

He is greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
