Robert F. Behr, 94, a former Frankfort resident, died Tuesday at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at St. Vincent Hospice, Indianapolis.

He was born May 11, 1915, in Veedersburg. He married Christina L. Loop on June 19, 1938, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 7, 2006.

Mr. Behr was a 1934 graduate of Frankfort High School and a longtime Frankfort resident, moving to Zionsville in 1993. He was plant superintendent at Indiana Brass Company and retired in 1979 after 45 years.

Mr. Behr was a veteran of the U.S. Navy in WWII.

His memberships include First Christian Church in Frankfort and the United Methodist Church in Zionsville. He was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge, former member of the Clinton Masonic Lodge in Frankfort and a former board member of the Paul Phillippe Resource Center. He was an avid bowler and bowled the first perfect game in Clinton County in 1956.

Surviving are two daughters, Barbara (Alan) Huckleberry of Germany and Bonnie (Art) Rettig of Indianapolis; one sister, Betty Johnson of New Albany; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, four brothers and two sisters.

Services 2 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2009, at Goodwin Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. until time of service. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
