Funeral Thursday
Funeral for Bailus Payton Blair, 82, of East Road 400S will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Myers Funeral Service, Reed and Jewell Chapel on 25th Street, with the Rev. Roger A. Walby officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Thursday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Whitecreek United Methodist Church or the American Heart Association.
Mr. Blair died at 12:20 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, 1999, at his home.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of Whitecreek United Methodist Church and Kentucky Club and was a fisherman and outdoorsman.
Born in Whitesburg, Ky., June 25, 1916, Mr. Blair was the son of Frank and Cornelia Caudill Blair. He married Stacy Frazier July 15, 1942, at Santa Maria, Calif. She survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Larry D. Blair of Columbus; a daughter, Sherry Hashman of Columbus; grandchildren, David Blair of Boulder, Colo., and Elizabeth Blair and Kanen, Kyndal and Kreigh Hashman, all of Columbus; sisters, Ruby Asher of Letcher, Ky., Ernestine Copeland of Holmdel, N.J., Randae Blair and Mary Fields, both of Morristown, Tenn., Sally Leucts of Independence, Ky., Colleen Strawser of Berea, Ky., and Pat Eubanks of West Carrollton, Ohio; and brothers, Frankie Blair of Warner Robbins, Ga., Brady, Bob and Curt Blair, all of Letcher, George Blair of Scottsburg and Don Blair of Williamsburg, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Nannie Blair Napier; and brothers, Pete, Elvin, Russell and Bruce Blair.
