Snow Roland Hays was born in Vance Alabama. She was married to Francis Cleveland Hays and they had three children: Joyce, James and Roland Hays.
She lost Roland when he was 6 years old. He was walking home from school and a hit and run driver hit and killed him. My mom (Joyce) was 9 and she said that my Gran was not the same afterward. My Gran walked to the school to get Roland. He was standing on the corner about to cross the street where my Gran was and as he stepped off the curb and started to walk the car hit him, so my Gran saw him get hit. Many years later she told me that the night before the accident Roland got out of bed and went to her before going to sleep and kissed her cheek and told her that he loved her. She said that he had never done that before.
She loved roses and especially pink roses.
