Harold L. Cole,
85, of Franksville, died Monday, May 25, 2009 at Oak Ridge Care Center in Union Grove. He was born Nov. 28, 1923 in Cameron to Claude and Maude (nee Thomas) Cole. He sent his early life and attended schools in the Cameron and Rice Lake areas. He served as an airplane mechanic in the US Army Air Corps during WWII. On Feb. 19, 1949 he was united in marriage to Isabelle Regina Berkley in Milwaukee. Following marriage they made their home in Milwaukee before moving to Franksville.
Harold worked for Sterns Electric in Milwaukee. He was a member of the American Legion Post 497. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, going to the casino and spending time with his family. He loved going on school field trips with his grandchildren. He played Santa and the Easter Bunny at Regency and Southgate Malls.
Survivors include his wife, Isabelle Cole of Franksville, children, Randy (Kitty) Cole of Franksville, Judy Chojnacki of Milwaukee, Pat (George) Slominski of Milwaukee, grandson, David Cole of Union Grove, great-grandchildren, Ty Cole, Sean and Nicky Feldbauer, Elvetta Kuntz, and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Lori Feldbauer and 10 siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at 7:00PM at Polnasek-Daniels Funeral Home in Union Grove with Pastor Gary Swanson officiating. Burial will take place on Friday, May 29th at 9AM at So. WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Thursday, May 28th from 4 – 7PM at the funeral home.
