Eugene H. Johnson of Osceola died July 17, 2008, at his home. He was 79.

Gene was born Oct. 1, 1928, at Ubet to Harry and Alma Johnson. In 1951 he married Marilynn Joan Anderson and after her death, he married Marylis Taylor in 1976. Gene worked as a truck Driver for over 60 years.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Marilynn Joan and Marylis; and son Mike Johnson.

He is survived by his daughter, Pam (Rick) Erickson of Osceola; son, Tom (Mary) Johnson of Bayport; stepdaughter, Tammy (Larry) Pennel of Farmington; stepson, Dan (Laura) Taylor of Minnesota; brother, Ercel Johnson of Blanchardville, Wis.; sisters, Joan Anderson of McAllen, Tex., Anita Mortenson of Somerfield, Fla.; very best friend and companion, Irene Johnson; 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were July 22 at Peace Lutheran Church in Dresser with Intern Doug Andersen, officiating. Music was provided by Dorothy Lindholm and Pete Peterson. Interment was in the Pleasant Prairie Cemetery in Osceola. Arrangements by the Grandstrand Funeral Home.
