Wilbert W. Asper

PONTIAC — Wilbert W. Asper, 74, of 1206 Indiana Ave., a retired farmer, died at 8:50 a.m. Aug. 16, 1984 at St. James Hospital, Pontiac. where he had been a patient one day.

His funeral was at the First United Methodist Church of Pontiac, the Rev. M. Thomas Swantner officiating.

Mr. Asper was born Aug. 23, 1909, in Eppards Point Township, Livingston County, a son of Wilbert C. and Katharine Wagner Asper. He married Margaret E. Meeker Sept. 14, 1946, at Cropsey. She survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Virginia Nelson, Pontiac, and Mary Snodgrass, Arvada, Colo.: a brother, Orville, Meadows; and four sisters, Katherine Kridner, Pontiac; Florence Hall, Horseshoe Bend, Ark.; Charlotte Bauman, San Diego, Calif.; and Irma Newsome, Columbus, Ohio.

A brother and a sister preceded him in death.

Mr. Asper, a lifelong Livingston County resident, was educated in rural schools and Pontiac Township High School. He farmed until retiring in 1983. Mr. Asper was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
