Eldest son of Judge Henry Ridgely. Grandson of Samuel Chase, signer of the Declaration of Independence.

Age 72 years. Remains removed from a private cemetery on Woodley, owned by the Ridgely family on November 22, 1869. Researcher's Note: Although cemetery records indicate his remains were removed from a private cemetery to Oak Hill the following newspaper account indicates otherwise.

There were two funerals here this afternoon: that of W. T. Rldgely Esq. and that of Mrs. Rackaway. Both were interred in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
