Snelling, Minn., in Supply Co., 1st Minn., F.A., as Wagoner, July 13, 1917; Regiment called into Federal service and incorporated in 42nd Div. as 151st F.A., mobilizing at Camp Mills, L.L.; promoted to Sergeant, Aug. 12, 1917; overseas Oct. 18, 1917; appointed regimental supply Sergeant, Dec. 10, 1917, and served as such until May 30, 1918; attended Saumer Artillery School, June, July, and August, 1918; commissioned 2nd Lieutenant of Field Artillery, Sept. 1, 1918; assigned to 101st F.A., 26th Div.; acted as Battalion Observation Officer and Eschelson Officer; later assigned to Battery B; in the major offensive at St. Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne; returned to U.S., May 9, 1919; discharged May 24, 1919.
