Stewartsville Private Killed in Manila:
Pfc. Royal Everett Robb, 27, was killed in action at Manila on Feb. 22, his mother, Mrs. Mabel Reynolds Robb, has been notified. Pfc. Robb was a life-long resident of Stewartsville until he entered military service and a graduate of Stewartsville High School. The death notification was the second war department message Mrs. Robb had received concerning her son as a casualty of war. He was slightly wounded in the invasion of the Admiralty Islands and for that exploit received the Medal of the Purple Heart. His mother, the widow of Royal Robb, received his last letter on Jan. 24. A member of the First cavalry division, he had been overseas for 20 months. He entered service in March, 1941, receiving his training at Ft. Riley, Kans., and Ft. Bliss, Tex. Surviving in addition to the mother are two brothers, Corp. Howard C. Robb, stationed on New Guinea, and Richard, Stewartsville; three sisters, Lois, Grace, and Geraldine and the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. P.H. Reynolds.

STEWARTSVILLE GOLD STAR IS EN ROUTE TO STATES:
The body of Pfc. Royal Everett Robb, 27, son of Mrs. Mabel Reynolds Robb, of Stewartsville, will arrive in the United States this week aboard the Transport Lt. George W.G. Boyce, due to dock at San Francisco. Pfc. Robb was killed in action in Manilla on Feb. 22, 1945. He was assigned to the first U.S. Calvary at the time and was wounded in the Admiralty Islands campaign. He was a graduate of the Stewartsville high school. Surviving in addition to the mother are two brothers, Howard C., a veteran of the war in the Pacific, and Richard, both of Stewartsville; three sisters, Lois Robb, Stewartsville, Mrs. David Nelson and Mrs. Elwood Nelson, of Carmi; and the maternal grandmother, Mrs. P.H. Reynolds, Stewartsville.

The body of Pfc. Royal Everett Robb, World War II Gold Star, will arrive in Mt. Vernon Friday morning. It will be taken to the Shoultz funeral home in New Harmony and Friday evening it will be removed to the home of his grandmother, Mrs. P.H. Reynolds in Stewartsville. It will remain there until time for the funeral service which will be held at the Methodist church at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Rev. R.J. Skelton, pastor of the New Harmony Methodist church, and Rev. Howard Jaquess, pastor of the Stewartsville Methodist church, will be officiating ministers. The Oliver Marquis Post of the American Legion of Poseyville will have charge of military rites at the cemetery. Pfc. Robb's body was brought to the U.S. from a Pacific war theater temporary cemetery aboard the US Army Transport Lt. George W.G. Boyce. The Stewartsville Gold Star was killed in action in Manila on Feb. 22, 1945. He was assigned to the 1st Cavalry at the time. While participating in the Admiralty Islands campaign he was wounded. Surviving the hero are his mother, Mrs. Mabel Reynolds Robb, of near Stewartsville; two brothers, Howard C., a veteran of war in the Pacific, and Richard, both of Stewartsville; three sisters, Lois Robb, Stewartsville, and Mrs. David Nelson and Mrs. Elwoood Nelson, Carmi, Ill., and the maternal grandmother, Mrs. P.H.
