"MIDLAND BRAKEMAN KILLED. About 4:30 yesterday afternoon Coroner Blakemore received word from Thomasville that John Finnegan, a Midland brakeman had been killed at that place. It seems that Finnegan in attempting to get on the rear end of the moving train slipped and fell, his head striking on the rail crushing his skull. Finnegan was a resident of Leadville where he leaves a wife. Coroner Blakemore left last night for the scene of the accident to determine the cause of death. He decided that an inquest was unnecessary and the body was taken to Leadville last night on No. 6."
