Prugh was born Oct. 21, 1868, in Pittsburgh, a son of William and Mary (Boggs) Prugh. He married Wyoming St. Clair, who preceeded him in death in 1949.
Prugh was a steelworker for the U.S. Steel Co. and retired in 1931. He was educated in Pittsburgh and Armstrong County, and was a graduate of Elderon Academy. Prugh taught in Armstrong and Cambria County. In 1896, he started work for steel company in the vandergrift mill. He was the last charter member of the First Methodist Church, Vandergrift.
Prugh was a 33rd degree mason. He was a past master of Kiskiminetas Lodge F&AM, a member of Orient Chapter Royal Arch Masons of Kittanning, a memeber of No. 1 Commandery, Knights Templer of Pittsburgh, and a member of the All Scottish Rites Body of Pittsburgh.
He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Nellie Hoover of Kittanning.
Friends are being received at Dunmire funeral home, Vandergrift. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, with Rev. Guy Smeltzer officicating.
Burial will be in Vandergrift cemetery.
