Walter lived most of his life in the Bartlesville area and attended College High School. He married Cherryl Northweather on January 6, 1961. From this marriage three children were born, Walter Tracy, Sherilyn Fay and Jeffrey Alan.
Another son, Jacob was born by another marriage.
Walter served his country in the US Navy and was stationed on the aircraft carrier the USS Oriskany and did a tour in Viet Nam. After his stay in the Navy he attended college at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK.
In 1979 he married Nancy Woods
Walter was preceded in death by his father Preston Winget and two sons Jeffrey Winget and Jacob Winget.
He is survied by his children Walter "Tracy" Winget and Sherilyn Hoeltzel, his mother Elvalee Winget, two special stepdaughters Julie Miller and Jodie Couch and seven grandchildren. Todd, Chelsea, Kelsea (twins) Charlea and Kaylea Hoeltzel, Alison and Kelley Winget, a brother James Lee Winget (twins) sister Jayne Marie Winget Hines.
Since his death there has been two more grandchildren born Abigale and Liberty Winget and four geat grandchildren Easton Blake Hoeltzel, Emma Belle Winget and Dallas Ayden Aguero and Case Meyers
