Registered nurse, lived in Clinton Township for 60 years Phyllis Rose Hendershot, age 81, of Clinton Twp., NJ passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2021 in Orlando, FL. She was born on February 24, 1940 in Easton, PA. She resided in Clinton Twp. for 60 years. She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Mabel Verga (Hillpot) Godown. Her husband, Robert Hendershot, passed away in 2001 after 40 years of marriage. She was a graduate of Frenchtown High School and Abington Memorial Medical Center School of Nursing in Philadelphia. Phyllis was a Registered Nurse. She worked at Hunterdon Medical Center early in her career and later worked at Somerset Medical Center until her retirement. Phyllis enjoyed traveling, going out for dinner and being at home and watching TV. She loved going to her second home in Colorado where she enjoyed being involved in a local seniors group and her grandchildren. Survivors include three sons: Robert J. Hendershot and his wife Belinda of Bethlehem, PA, Keith M. Hendershot and his wife Jennifer of Erie, CO and Duane D. Hendershot of Easton, PA; five grandchildren: Katerina and her wife Chelsea, Michael Hendershot, Robert Hendershot Jr. and his wife Autumn, Corey Hendershot and Kaila Hendershot; two stepgrandchildren: Shanna Distler and Eric Weber; stepdaughter-in-law Amelia Siegfried; two great-grandchildren: Robert Hendershot III and Charleigh Hendershot; five stepgreat-grandchildren: Faith Willemet, Taylor Poyer, Shawn Weber Jr., Thomas Weber and Blake Siegfried, and one sister, Marilyn Zapatka and her husband Frederick of Arizona. Predeceased in addition to her husband by one sister, Evelyn J Godown and stepgrandson Shawn Weber Sr. Calling hours will take place on Sunday, December 26, 2021 from 2-5pm. Funeral service will be Monday, December 27, 2021 at 11am. All at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Interment at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Long Valley, NJ.
