Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 23 at the Assembly of God Church, Cherryvale, where Bill Haselwood, pastor, officiated.
Burial was at the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel of Cherryvale.
Cal William Alford was born August 13, 1935 at England, Ark., to Carl Lee Alford and Othel Geneva (West) Alford. He grew up and attended school in Arkansas where he graduated from high school. He later attended the University of Little Rock and also served with the National Guard.
Following his schooling, he moved to California where he worked for the Traveler Boat Manufacturing Company as the plant manager. He later accepted employment as the plant manager at the Diamond Trailer Plant in Oswego, Kan., where he worked for many years. He then worked for Charloma in Cherryvale for a time and then owned and operated the Fiberglass Corporation in Coffeyville, which he was operating at the time of his death.
On June 11, 1955 in Mississippi, he married Thelma Mae McClain, and she survives at the home in Cherryvale, Kan.
He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Cherryvale where he served as a deacon for many years, a member of the Gideons, and Casa Pic Council, and member of the Masonic Lodge in Coffeyville, and the Mirza Shrine in Pittsburg.
Survivors in addition to the wife include three daughters, one son, seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, his mother, andfive sisters.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother.
