Emmanuel was the son of Simeon A. Dease b 1837 GA, and Martha Lamar Adamson b 1838 GA. He first married Rno Ophelia Mitchell, and had the following children:

1. Bernie Hiram Dease b 1892
2. Lillian Odessa Dease b 1894
3. Myrtice Alma Dease b 1896
4. Infant Dease b 1898
5. Artice E. Dease b 1899
6. Vera Odelle Dease Goss b ?

He married 2) Cordelia McCune and had:

1. Russell E. Dease b 1913
