MARMADUKE — Jean Frances McHaney, 85, of Marmaduke passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2009, in Lawrence Memorial Hospital at Walnut Ridge.
She was born Nov. 15, 1923, to the late Burt and Callie Sims Shelby.
Mrs. McHaney was a member of the Marmaduke First United Methodist Church, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Marmaduke Extension Homemakers Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rex McHaney; two brothers, John and Bob Shelby; and a sister, Doris Atkinson.
Survivors include her son, John T. McHaney and wife Alyce of Powhatan; daughter, Debrah Stogsdill of Jonesboro; sister, Joann Martin of Brookland; sister-in-law, Peggy McHaney; three grandchildren, Kimberly Bigger and husband Brock, Shelly England and husband Aaron and Hilary Bowling and husband Jamey; and six great-grandchildren, Katelyn Bigger, Reed Bigger, Cade England, Austin England, Carter Bowling and Calla Bowling.
Graveside funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Harvey's Chapel Cemetery with Kim Bridges and Lynn McClure officiating. Irby Funeral Home of Marmaduke is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be at 5 p.m. today in Irby Funeral Home Chapel at Marmaduke.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Marmaduke.
