Walter was a veteran of World War I and the VFW will be in charge of graveside rites. Walter died Friday evening in St. Anthony Hospital.
Survivors include his widow, Ida, of the home; three sons, Ralph and Leo A., both of Catherine, and Melvin of Tulsa, Okla.; three daughters, Mrs. Rich (Edna) Schumacher of Munjor, Mrs. Wilfred (Bertha) Pfeifer of Victoria, and Miss Melvina Walter of the home; two brothers, Fred of Independence, Mo., and Carl of Iola, Kan.; one sister, Miss Sophia Walter of Cologne, Germany; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
