Funeral services were held Saturday in the Little River United Methodist Church for Mrs. Leiws F. Banister. Officiating minister was Rev. Homer H. Wolcott. Obituary: Blossom N. O'Brien was born to Minnie and James O'Brien at Howard, Kansas, Feb. 10, 1897, and passed away in Hoffman Memoial Hospital, Little River, Kansas, May 29, 1969, at the age of 72 yrs., 3 mos, & 19 da. She came with her parents in 1909 to Little River, KS., where they made their home. She was married to Lewis F. Banister at Little River, Jan. 12, 1916, and to this union was born one son, Delano. They were married 53 years, Jan.12, 1969, and had live in the community southwest of Little River until four years ago when her health failed and at that time moved to Little River. Her health grew worse until she was unable to do anythig for herself the past two years. She could always smile and appreciate cards and flowers and to visit with her friends. She was a loving mother and grandmother and a nice persn to call a friend. She was baptized in the Methodist Church, Feb. 20, 1910, where her membership remained to the time of her going. She was a membr ot the WSCS She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Mrs. Wilma Deal. She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, Lewis; son Delano of Liberal; four grandchildren; Eldon Banister of Edmond, Okla.; Mrs. Janice Bell, Mrs. Cheryl Handy and Daryl Banister, all of Liberal; a sister, Lula Hardy, Stockton, Calif.; two nieces, a nephew, also eight great-grandchildren, and a host of friends. She was indeed a frend whom to know your live was made richer by her constant abiding faith in God. She suffered long but in keeping with the sripture, she was kind. She buried in Bean Cemetery.
