ALBERT CLARK

Albert Clark was born in Leavenworth, Kansas, October 27, 1868 and was educated in the schools there.

He was married to Miss Jennie Mayfield, December 23, 1895. Five children were born to them: Mrs. Hazel Atnip, Salinas, California; John, Gilroy, California; Mrs. Ruth Mock, Fredericksburg, Iowa; Albert, Jr., Denver, Colorado; and William, Altadena, California.

The family came to Little River in 1900 where Mr. Clark engaged in the drug business. He continued in this till mounting years and loss of health made it necessary for him to discontinue. For nearly half a century he dispensed the drugs that were needed for this community. We have been fortunate to have for so long a pharmacist of his industry and ability. He served as mayor of the city for several years. About three and a half years ago his sickness began and he died in Hoffman Memorial Hospital, Little River, October 7, 1948 at the age of 80. He leaves many good friends who will remember him with pleasure.

Besides the wife and children, the relatives who survive him include a brother, Celey Clark, Boulder, Colorado and a sister, Mrs. Grace Van Fossen of California. There were nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at the Congregational Church Saturday, October 9 at 2 p.m. The pastor, H. W. Cox was in charge. Percy L. Perry read the scripture and offered prayer, hymns were sung by a quartette composed of Madge Hamilton, Mayme Baxter, M. O. Brown, and G. W. Hamilton. Masonic services were conducted at the grave. Good night, Allie.
