WINDOM MAN DIES IN LOCAL HOSPITAL

Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon in Windom United Methodist Church for Emery Eli Crane, 76, who passed away early Monday morning in Hoffman Memorial hospital after a long illness. Rev. Howell E. Jones conducted services and the Masonic Lodge of Galva had charge of the graveside service in Bean Memorial cemetery.

Born in Marion County, Missouri January 9, 1894, he married Christine Peterman January 24, 1928 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He operated the café in Windom for 27 years.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Windom; Galva AF & AM Lodge No. 251 and of Windom Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include the widow; daughters, Mrs. Edythe Gottberg, San Diego, Calif.; Mrs. Dorothy Smelser, Topeka; Mrs. Leola Dunnivan, Hereford, Texas; Mrs. Hazel Hutchinson, Hutchinson; brothers, W. R. of Cotter, Ark., and Richard C. of Geneseo; sisters, Mrs. Mae Khaler, Hutchinson and Mrs. Inez Gerard, Burbank, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
