Mrs. Ira Cook, 86, died at 12:15 a.m. today following a long illness. She made her home with a daughter, Mrs. R. L. Sparkman. The body will be sent tonight to Gainesville for burial.

Mrs. Cook was born in Stanton, Va., and came to Texas at an early age. The Linn Community was named for her father.

Children surviving are Mrs. George Eubank, Mrs. A. L. Stewart, Mrs. R. L. Sparkman and F. D. Cook of Corpus Christi; Carl Cook of Gainesville, Mrs. D. L. Ely of Midland, Jess Cook of Houston and Mrs. W. W. Sawyers of San Antonio. Other survivors include 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
