Funeral services for William Erskine "Red" Chambless, 86, 2 Aug 1922, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at Collins Burke Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Odom Memorial Cemetery in Parrish, Ala.
Collins Burke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Chambless died Friday, April 24, at Summerford Nursing Home.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Pleasant Chambless; his mother, Mary Melvina Brooks Chambless; his wife, Edna Irene McClain Chambless; a stepdaughter, Marie Cagle; nine brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include his daughter, Carole Hester of Cullman; a stepson, Wayne Vintson of Jasper; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; six stepgrandchildren; 14 stepgreat-grandchildren; and a step great-great-grandchild.
