Elmer E. Hendershot, 62, Johnsonburg Road, Allamuchy, NJ., died Tuesday in Hackettstown Community Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Allamuchy on Dec. 25, 1916, he was a son of the late Edgar and Clara Staples Hendershot. He was a lifelong resident of the Allamuchy area.
He was a farmer at the Gibbs Farms, Allamuchy.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas Leavitt, at home, and Ronald Leavitt, Hackettstown; two step daughters, Miss Diane Leavitt and Miss Gloria Leavitt, both of Allamuchy; a brother, Fred of Philadelphia, and a sister, Mrs. Louella Millard, Allamuchy.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow in the Cochran Funeral Home, Hackettstown. Internment will be in Tranquility, NJ Cemetery.
