Son of Willis Ludell Cheney and Myra (Wood) Cheney - born April 8, 1910 died February 27, 1995 at the age of 84. Ludell was always active in agricultural organizations and civic activities. His most recent involvement was the Golden K Kiwanis Club and FFA Alumni and he was proud to have been a charter member of the 4-H Club in Ingham County. He lived his entire life in the farmhouse on the Centennial Farm settled by his grandfather in 1861. Masonry had been an important part of his life as an active member of Masonic Lodge #70, Royal Arch #51, Eastern Star #150, Leslie Council #50 and Commandry-Jackson #9. Predeceased by his first wife, Merle (1961), Mr. Cheney is survived by his wife of 32 years Thelma, 1 daughter, Phyllis (Arthur) Webster of Williamston, 1 son, Richard L (Sydney) of Mason; 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 brother, Paul (Marguerite). Funeral services will be held Thursday March 2, 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Mason with Rev. William D Wolfe, Pastor officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mason.
