Beverley Anne Hill, 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 22, 2009, surrounded by her family. She was a strong, caring, honest and loving mother and would do anything for her family.

Beverley was born in Emporia, Kansas on April 30, 1928 to Everett and Frances Albin Heinkel. She moved to California with her family when she was 14 years old and lived the remainder of her life there. She graduated from San Jose High School. She met her future husband Eugene Long when she worked as a lunch counter waitress at the Foothill Creamery in east San Jose. They married in 1948 and he was the father of her six children, which they raised together in the San Jose area. They parted ways and she later married Walter Hill in 1972.

Beverley was an avid card and bingo player and loved the competition of both. She loved her family and nothing made her happier than serving and helping others. She loved the Lord and was also an active member of the First Baptist Church in Paso Robles, CA.

Beverley is survived by her children, David (Kathy) Long of Rocklin, CA; Mary Long (Ron) Hysell of Paso Robles, CA; Daniel Long of Florence, OR; Darell (Tamera) Long of San Martin, CA; Victoria "Tori" Long (Dave) Eaton of Livermore, CA; 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; her brother, Benjamin (Helga) Denison of Arizona, sister, Wilma Denison of Texas, and Irene Ryan, whom she also considered her sister.
