William ‘Bill' Boyett
William "Bill" Boyett, 61, passed away Saturday morning, May 30, 2009.
He was born May 23, 1948 in Alma, GA and moved to the Fernandina Beach-Yulee, FL area with his family when he was about four years old.
He was a member of the 1966 graduating class of Fernandina Beach High School. After graduation, he left the area to serve in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War era. He served on an aircraft carrier, the U.S.S. Independence.
Six years ago, he returned to Yulee from Palatka, FL and became co-owner of the Envy Us Lawn Care with his son, Mike. He was a member of the Blackrock Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon.
He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Cindy Boyett, who passed away in 2008.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Sandra Anderson Boyett, Yulee, FL; two sons, Tate Boyett, Palatka, FL and Michael (Michelle) Boyett, Jacksonville, FL; his parents, Winston and Iris Boyett, Fernandina Beach, FL; his mother-in-law, Estelle Anderson, Yulee, FL; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Kim Boyett and Mark and Vicki Boyett, all of Fernandina Beach, FL; a sister, Kay Bush, Fernandina Beach and two grandchildren, Dale Boyett and Kaitlyn Felten.
Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 1st, at Green Pines Funeral home in Yulee, FL.
The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 2nd, at the Blackrock Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Lawrence officiating the service. The eulogy was a testimony of Billy's never ending love of Sandra, his sons, and the grandchildren; the passion he had for life; his faithful service to the Lord; and how he was a trusted friend to many. He, along with his beautiful smile, will be missed. Interment followed in the Green Pine Cemetery with full military honors.
