Mrs. Susan Frances Marchant, widow of the late Alexander Marchant, died at her home, Roland Park, Baltimore, Md., last Friday after a long illness.
The funeral services were conducted at the home last Sunday by Rev. Hicks of the first Baptist Church and the remains brought to Mathews on Monday and laid to rest in Kingston Cemetery after burial services performed by Rev. W. F. Carpenter. The floral tributes were numerous and beautiful.
Mrs. Marchant was a former resident of Mathews and had many friends here. She was a lifelong member of the Baptist Church and a truly good woman, commanding the respect and esteem of all who knew her. She is survived by four sons, Messrs. A. Floyd Marchant of Mathews, Russell B. Marchant and Kerfoot Marchant, of New York, and Clarence R. Marchant, of Baltimore, four daughters, Mrs. Lessie L. Thurston and Mrs. ____ (rest of notice missing)
